Over 100 years ago, The Overland made history by being one of the first trains to offer inter-capital rail travel between two of Australia’s most posh cities: Adelaide and Melbourne. Take a journey on this historic train and enjoy the sights while traveling in comfort and convenience. The Overland offers a daylight service between Adelaide, South Australia’s center of commerce and seat of government, and Melbourne, home to some of Australia’s best shopping, restaurants, and entertainment. The return trip is an overnighter from Melbourne to Adelaide.
The Overland also provides connections in Adelaide with the Indian Pacific, enabling you to experience a trans-continental journey from Melbourne to Perth or the reverse. You can also connect with The Ghan, thus allowing you to go to the heart of Australia.
